Digital Learning
Vision
Here at Joseph Cash, digital technology is a catalyst for our core values and is at the heart of the JC Big Six. We empower our children to become curious investigators and resilient problem solvers through a universal offer of purposeful technology. iPads and digital tools are never an add-on: they are the essential golden threads that promote inclusion and foster independence. By meeting the DfE digital standards, we ensure that high-quality, accessible technology is built into the heart of our curriculum – not as a reward, but as a right. We use these tools to bridge gaps, reduce barriers to learning and ensure every child has the confidence and opportunity to reach their full potential and aim high in an increasingly digital world.
We believe digital learning should:
- Improve access to learning for all pupils
- Reduce barriers and support inclusion
- Encourage creativity, collaboration, and independence
- Support teacher workload, not increase it
- Be safe, age-appropriate, and well-managed
What Digital Learning Looks Like in Practice
- iPads should be seamlessly integrated into the curriculum and used intentionally to support and enhance instruction across the elements of the JC Big Six.
- Accessibility features support independence for all pupils, not just those with SEND.
- Digital platforms are predictable and manageable for pupils and there is a clear progression map for pupils moving through the school.
- Staff feel confident, supported, and able to ask questions.
